Abstract
This talk will be about the general structure of spectral theory on stationary spacetimes. I will state some classical results of spectral geometry for compact Riemannian manifolds and compare these to the theory on stationary spatially compact globally hyperbolic spacetimes. I will state two trace-formulae that show how classical motion in curved background describes various limits of spectral theory on these spacetimes. (joint work with Steve Zelditch)
