Abstract
In this talk I will present a particle system that encapsulates a simple notion of contagion, and whose mean-field limit turns out to be intimately related to the Stefan problem for supercooled liquids (in one dimension). In particular, we will explore the presence of fragile states for the mean field limit, which leads to interesting questions of regularity and (non-)uniqueness as well as a selection rule for global existence that allows for the ’’correct’’ resolution of the fragile states.
