- đ Venue: The Howard Theatre, Downing College
Abstract
This talk will describe ultrashort pulse laser machining, which offers multi-functional 3D fabrication inside transparent materials and promises to be a disruptive manufacturing method for a range of future technologies. In particular, the talk will focus on the use of adaptive optics in the laser processing to enhance resolution, efficiency and throughput. An example application will be presented, namely laser fabrication in the bulk of synthetic diamond for the creation of embedded electrical wires, optical waveguides and defects for quantum technology.
Series This talk is part of the Optics for the Cloud series.
