Abstract
Cosmic microwave background and large scale structure observations have played a crucial role in constructing the standard model of cosmology. Discovery of astrophysical gravitational waves has opened a new avenue to explore the cosmos using transients. In my talk, I will discuss a few new frontiers in the field of physical cosmology and fundamental physics which can be explored using gravitational waves from the ongoing LIGO -Virgo observatory and with the future gravitational wave missions such as LISA , Einstein Telescope and Cosmic Explorer. I will elucidate the existence of synergies between the electromagnetic signals and gravitational wave signals and its importance in understanding the standard model of cosmology.
