Abstract
We are pleased to announce a webinar in which Professor John Elliott will talk about his life as a researcher and reformer, and then introduce us to eight ‘good reads’ – educational works that have influenced his work and thinking.
John is Emeritus Professor of Education and Lifelong Learning at the Centre for Action Research in Education at the University of East Anglia which he founded. He is well-known internationally for his role in developing the theory and practice of educational action research in the contexts of curriculum and teacher development, and has directed a number of funded collaborative classroom research projects with teachers and schools.
Before John joined East Anglia, he was a lecturer at the University of Cambridge and a fellow at Hughes Hall.
A mentee of Lawrence Stenhouse, an international leader in action research for many years, a strong supporter of teachers as researchers, and this century an international leader of ‘Lesson Studies’, John has crammed his half century career jam packed with quality research and influential practice that has changed the lives and careers of many practitioners. He also founded and edited in chief the International Journal of Action Research and the International Journal of Lesson and Learning Studies. Both are still going strong.
We invite you to join us in this webinar which will provide an inspirational reading list, and an opportunity to hear a distinguished colleague reflect on his career in education.
