Abstract
The production of coloured supersymmetric particles is an important SUSY discovery channel at the LHC . Therefore it is essential that the theoretical predictions for squark and gluino production cross sections are known with high accuracy. In this talk I will focus on the effects of soft gluon emission on the total cross sections for squark-antisquark and gluino-pair production. After a short review of the QCD resummation method, used to systematically treat soft parts of higher order corrections, I will report its application to the hadronic sparticle production processes. Concluding, I will discuss the size of the soft gluon corrections and the reduction of the theoretical error related to the scale dependence.
