Abstract
This talk will consist of two presentations followed by the traditional Q&A session. Please get your questions ready!
Talk 1: Prof. Jabbour explores the evolution of green supply chain management to sustainable supply chains 4.0. The potential effects of the COVID -19 pandemic on the increased demand for smart technologies in sustainable supply chains will be addressed. We will explore the possibilities of developing ‘socially responsible’ new smart technologies capable of unlocking truly sustainable Agri-food chains.
Talk 2: Prof. Pearson will reflect upon the Agri-food chain innovation opportunities that have emerged post COVID . This includes a renewed need to accelerate the development of robotic technologies and digital systems to connect supply chains. Simon will report on a national initiative (“Accelerated Automation”) to drive the agri-robotics research and feedback from industry for the key challenges.
