How 'Special' is the Anglo-American Special Relationship?
- 👤 Speaker: Srdjan Vucetic
- 📅 Date & Time: Monday 27 October 2008, 19:45 - 21:00
- 📍 Venue: Nihon Room, Pembroke College
Abstract
The idea that Anglo-American relations are “special” is usually associated with Winston Churchill, and this “specialness” has been claimed and declaimed ever since his time. Does this relationship really exist? If so, how do we know, how did it become possible and what effects does it have? This talk begins to address these questions through an analysis of U.S.-led “coalitions of the willing.”
