RPV and long lived SUSY

Ten years of LHC searches have turned up no physics beyond the Standard Model. But we have just as much reason to expect new physics as we did when the LHC first turned on. So where can it be hiding? This seminar will introduce two interconnected areas – R-parity violating SUSY and long-lived particles – where there is well-motivated and under-explored space for a discovery. An overview of the techniques used and challenges involved will be illustrated with some specific examples from the ATLAS collaboration. There is a lot of interesting work still to be done before the full potential of these searches will be reached.
