Abstract
This is a historical and social volcanology project answering the research question: “how did the colonial society of St. Vincent adapt to the volcanic eruptions of La Soufriere?” Research interests are historical and social contexts of eruptions and other disasters; the creation and preservation of volcanic knowledge; how connected vulnerability, risk and resilience are to culture; the use of social media versus traditional media in relation to risk perceptions.
