Abstract
Domain Specific Languages have been a hot research topic in recent years, but in spite of the impressive theoretical advancement of this innovative approach there is an obvious lack of practical programming tools to support it. This talk is devoted to the MBase framework, which is designed specifically for the practical implementation of DSLs for Microsoft’s .NET platform.
With the MBase framework it is possible to implement a professional-quality compiler for a reasonably complex programming language within a couple of hours, which makes it an ideal environment for experimenting with language designs. The presentation will cover the framework’s design and architecture, the Language-Oriented Programming methodology in general, and some innovative methods in compiler implementation.
Series This talk is part of the Computer Laboratory Programming Research Group Seminar series.
