Abstract
Agent-based modeling (ABM) has been around since the 1970s. However, it has recently grown in popularity because of increased compute power. In this talk, Kazil will give an overview of ABMs, their applications, and tooling. She will give an overview of available tools and breakdown the shared concepts that agent-based modeling tools have specifically by walking through the tool that she has written called Mesa. Mesa is an agent-based modeling framework written in Python. Originally started in 2013, it was created to be the go-to tool for researchers wishing to build agent-based models with Python.
