Abstract
A Large Ion Collider Experiment (ALICE) has been designed to measure the particles produced in the heavy ion collisions. Its design also makes it an excellent detector for minimum bias measurements in p-p collisions. After summarising the status of detector and its commissioning, I will discuss the basic minimum bias measurements foreseen in the initial period of running. The role of UK in ALICE programme will be explained.
