Abstract
Tidal interaction between a hot Jupiter and its host star results in stellar oscillations which produce both a radial velocity signal and a variation of the stellar flux. To compute the perturbation at the surface of the star accurately, non-adiabaticity and departure from the equilibrium tide have to be taken into account. We explain how the modelled oscillations are converted into photometric and spectroscopic signals, and present results for both general trends and specific systems.
