Abstract
Arm has been working with the Computer Labs on the CHERI architecture for the past 6-7 years and we are partners in the UKRI funded Digital Security by Design program which is a major program to generate an industrial scale demonstrator system using capabilities as part of the steps for the deployment of this architecture. This industrial demonstrator is called Morello, and this talk will give a brief overview of the principles of the capability architecture and its potential uses, but will focus on the challenges in actually taking such a technology to an industrial deployment , and why the Morello project was a necessary step to deploy the technology, together with talking about the contents of the Morello demonstrator and its uses.
