There is a current perception that the time for novel materials to make the transition to the clinic should be measured in decades rather than years. This talk will describe how we have taken two novel materials technologies: 1) an eye-drop to prevent ocular scarring and 2) a nasal spray to prevent infection with SARS Cov2 to clinic trials in a fraction of that. This talk will describe the barriers that we have had to overcome and how planning ahead can save a lot of time.
