These talks are run by the Cambridge City Group of the Wildlife Trust

Since 1995 the Kingfishers Bridge Project (without an apostrophe!) has transformed 150 acres of arable farmland into a mosaic of wildlife habitats. Where tractors once cultivated the soil to grow potatoes and cereals there are now meadows with hundreds of wintering wildfowl, reedbeds with nesting Marsh Harriers and limestone cliffs with breeding Sand Martins and Kingfishers. The rare Water Germander is now abundant. Anyone learning about management of wetland sites would benefit from this talk, and the speed with which wildlife has returned is truly inspiring to hear about.
