A non-perturbative view of the cosmological bootstrap

Abstract
Quantum field theories living in (non-fluctuating) de Sitter space are constrained by the isometries of dS. At late times their correlation functions look like those of a scale-invariant quantum field theory in one lower dimension. However, such conformal field theories don’t have the same unitarity properties as standard CFTs, which makes them difficult to understand. In this talk I will argue that one can leverage the notion of unitarity coming from the bulk de Sitter space to nevertheless constrain these late-time CFTs, using methods borrowed from the conformal bootstrap program (which has e.g. been used to “solve” the 3d Ising model).
