Abstract
The proposal is to present an overview of approaches to improving clinical practice then to introduce methods for investigating barriers to change. The tenet is that appropriate investigation of barriers is a prerequisite to the development of change interventions which might include system changes.
Stephen Rogers is a Consultant in Public Health at Northamtonshire PCT . He previous worked at University College London on a series of “Evidence into Practice” initiatives and on patient safety in primary care. He is currently the lead for the implemntation of NICE guidance in his healthcare community and is seconded for part of his time to the Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland CLAHRC (Collaborations for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care).
