Abstract
“In this talk, I will outline some of the challenges of the energy transition, especially the decarbonisation of heat. I will discuss heat loads of houses, and also of colleges in Cambridge, and outline some possible solutions for their decarbonisation, and the relative merits of different approaches. I will also touch on the environmental challenges of large scale extraction of metals for batteries, and on the challenges of decarbonisation for industry where carbon sequestration offers a solution for some hard to decarbonise processes.”
