Abstract
For those who are about to Google⦠Hornworts together with mosses and liverworts form the monophyletic group of bryophytes. Bryophytes are the proposed closest sister group to all other land plants (vascular plants). Thus, hornworts reside in a very important phylogenetic position with regards to our understanding of the genetic basis of land plant evolution. This talk will be a short overview of our journey to establish Anthoceros agrestis as a hornwort experimental system.
