Abstract
Anchored steel sheet pile walls are frequently adopted as retaining structures in port facilities. Coastal regions of many countries in the world are highly seismic, meaning that ASSP walls are likely to experience intense seismic shaking. Most failures of port structures resulted from excessive displacements that compromised the serviceability of the facility, hence displacement methods should be preferred in evaluating the seismic performance of ASSP walls. Good understanding of the seismic behaviour of these structures is necessary to extend existing displacement predictive methods to the analysis of ASSP walls under seismic actions.
