The Genomic Evolution of Cancer
- đ¤ Speaker: David Wedge, University of Manchester đ Website

- đ Venue: CRUK CI Lecture Theatre
Abstract
Cancer is an evolutionary process. Using computational modelling, we can identify evolutionary trajectories within individual tumours and within cancer types. By taking a pan-cancer approach, major differences in the evolutionary journeys of cancers arising in different tissues are observed. In his talk, David will focus on the mutational processes and genomic drivers that lead to progression from normal cells through primary tumours and, ultimately, to lethal metastatic cancer, in tumour types including prostate, oesophageal and other tumour types.
