Abstract
The seminar will take place in hybrid format in the Potter Room at DAMPT and via Zoom here.
Abstract: Electroweak baryogenesis (EWBG) crucially relies on the presence of new physics which is needed to generate the first-order electroweak phase transition and a sufficient amount of CP violation. In most of the previously analysed models of EWBG , the electroweak phase transition happens at temperatures of about 100 GeV, and the associated new physics has to be correspondingly light. The latter fact often leads to conflicts with experimental data. I will discuss a mechanism leading to high-temperature breaking of the electroweak symmetry by virtue of new fermions, which changes the typical temperatures of EWBG and increases the mass scales of the associated new physics. I will also analyse the phenomenological implications of this mechanism in a concrete model of electroweak baryogenesis in the composite Higgs framework.
