A BayeSN Analysis of the SN Ia Trio of Siblings in NGC 3147

Abstract
Type Ia Supernovae (SNe Ia) are standardisable candles, used to measure luminosity distances and place constraints on cosmological parameters. To improve SN Ia standardisation, we must understand the astrophysical ties between the SNe and their host galaxies. By analysing SN siblings – those that occur in the same host galaxy – we mitigate scatter in the distance estimates from the global host galaxy properties, which in turn allows us to evaluate our modelling of the remaining systematic uncertainties, e.g. dust, intrinsic SED modelling, and local host galaxy properties. In this talk, I will discuss our work using BayeSN, a hierarchical Bayesian model of the SN Ia SEDs, to analyse the first example of a trio of SN Ia siblings in a Cepheid calibrator galaxy, NGC 3147 .
