Abstract
Decades of space exploration have taught us a lot about planetary activity and its various drivers. Planets are gifted with an initial inventory of radioactive materials to power their interiors and drive surface evolution. However, what these planets, and indeed other solar system bodies, display over the their life-time is nothing short of extraordinary, and at times puzzling. In this talk, I plan to introduce the multiple pathways that solar system bodies can remain active over billions of years with a wide range of activities. To do that, I plan to take you with me on a virtual journey through our solar system aided with data we have acquired from numerous missions, which have truly expanded our horizons by deepening, and challenging, our understanding of how solar system bodies evolve with time.
