Abstract
I will present results from a variety of recent hydrodynamical calculations of star formation. I will begin by discussing the statistical properties of young stars such as the initial mass function, multiplicity, and protostellar disc properties and how these properties are predicted to depend on metallicity (Z > 0.01 Zsun) and redshift (between z=0 and z=5). I will then present new results investigating dust grain growth during the early stages of star formation. Finally, I will discuss observations and hydrodynamical models of the warped disc around a particular young triple stellar system, GW Orionis, which maybe the first resolved example of a so-called broken disc.
