Abstract
Research: Hard Drive Energy Consumption and its Relation to Data Center Storage Array Energy, Anthony Hylick
I will be covering my work for the last 12 months looking at hard drive energy consumption and the larger energy implications as you move into the larger storage deployment arena. More specifically, I will be discussing the detailed findings of how certain hard drive activities affect energy consumption as seen from our custom measurement hardware. From these findings, I will discuss the process of modeling larger scale storage energy consumption.
