Abstract
Many organisations routinely expose staff to traumatic situations including the emergency services, healthcare organisations, the military, social services, media professionals and so on. Such employers have a duty of care to protect the mental health of trauma-exposed staff and healthcare providers have to provide care for people who develop PTSD or other trauma-related mental health disorders. This talk will outline the evidence based approaches to managing traumatic stress within a workplace and provide an update on contemporary treatment approaches to trauma-related mental ill-health.
Series This talk is part of the Department of Psychiatry & CPFT Thursday Lunchtime Seminar Series series.
