Abstract
It is a human instinct to want to move things forward and we often label this ‘progress’. Whether it is in science, business, the economy or entertainment – this continued sense of improvement is a powerful motivator at a personal and societal level. However we are now seeing that we need to check the direction of where we are heading for our very survival on this planet. What does progress really mean, is there a defining definition? Each generation and culture often have quite different ideas about what it means. In this talk we will be examining the spiritual understanding and perspective on this notion and instinct for progress.
Sarah FitzGerald, originally from Cambridge, UK is a trained Interior Designer. She has worked at the Science Museum as well as at a number of design consultancies in London. She became interested in spirituality in 2009 when she took up language teaching in South East Asia. She discovered Raja Yoga with the Brahma Kumaris while in Cambodia and since then has returned to Cambridge to continue her career in teaching and to deepen her understanding of the ‘real interior design’.
