An introduction to condensed mathematics
- đ¤ Speaker: Guillem Tarrach ( University of Cambridge)

- đ Venue: MR13
Abstract
If one tries to do homological algebra with topological objects (for example, topological abelian groups or topological vector spaces), one runs into problems almost immediately. In this talk, I will discuss what these problems are, how the formalism of condensed mathematics recently developed by Clausen-Scholze addresses them, and give an overview of the main elements of this theory. If time permits, I will honour the name of this seminar and talk about some of the applications to (analytic) geometry.
Series This talk is part of the Junior Geometry Seminar series.
