Abstract
Ally will be discussing how the structural design firm he works for, London Structures Lab, is incorporating steel reuse and dowel laminated timber (DLT) to reduce the embodied carbon of their structural engineering projects.
Ally is a chartered structural engineer currently working as associate at London Structures Lab, before which he was a senior engineer at AKTII . He is also a member of the iStructE Structural Futures committee. His professional interests lie in designing buildings with reduced embodied carbon, with a focus on refurbishment of existing structures.
