Abstract
On the bacterial cell surface we can find structures, which enable the bacterium to interact with its environment, such as cells in the human bodies, e.g. in our noses or guts. To prevent infections by pathogenic bacteria, we aim to understand how these structures bind to the bacteriumโs environment. The aim of my PhD project is to investigate these structures to be able to identify them, and for instance provide candidates for vaccine targets.
