Taking Physics Forward with FASER

Abstract
The FASER experiment is a new, small, and inexpensive experiment that is being placed 480 meters downstream of the ATLAS experiment at the CERN LHC . The experiment aims to shed light on currently unexplored phenomena and has the potential to make revolutionary discoveries. FASER is designed to capture decays of exotic particles produced in the very forward region, beyond the ATLAS detector’s acceptance, as well as to detect collider neutrinos for the first time and study their properties. This talk will present the detector design and operational experience with the Run 3 data-taking. It will focus on the first collision data results, including the first direct observation of collider neutrinos. The talk will close by discussing the physics prospects of the experiment for the rest of Run 3 and beyond.
