Abstract
Prebiotic chemistry is to understand the chemical reactions from small molecules (e.g. hydrogen cyanide, carbon dioxide, etc.) to bio-related molecules (e.g. oligonucleotides, peptides, lipids, carboxylates, etc.). Cyanosulfidic chemistry and carboxysulfitic chemistry are two scenarios for the synthesis of small building blocks (e.g. amino acids, (deoxy)nucleosides, carboxylates, etc.). Crystallization is a geologically plausible way to purify some intermediates produced by these chemistries. Here I will discuss these two scenarios and have some examples of the purification of the prebiotic compounds by the crystallization process.
