Abstract
Lagrangians are half-dimensional submanifolds of symplectic spaces on which the symplectic form vanishes. They are of considerable importance in symplectic geometry and the study of their equivalence classes drives much progress in the subject. In this talk, we will consider various notions of equivalence, which have distinct granularity in general. I will present several examples, mostly in dimension 4, including some symplectic phenomena, and cases where full classifications are achievable. Time permitting, I will also introduce symplectic Lefschetz fibrations, their links to Lagrangians and also to my own work.
