Abstract
Animals make inhomogeneous use of space, and these non-uniform movement patterns underpin the efficacy and plasticity of foraging, mate-finding and other ecologically relevant interactions. We present an analitically solvable model of wildlife-vehicle collisions of a range-resident animal on a road, based on the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process. More generally, this serves as an example of how probabilistic local interactions can be modelled by processes stopped at inverse local times. Work done during my MSc at ICTP -SAIFR under supervision of Dr. Ricardo Martinez-Garcia, CASUS -HZDR
