Abstract
Maximal supergravity in two dimensions enjoys an infinite-dimensional rigid symmetry group, E_9, that generalises the Geroch group of pure GR with two isometries. We may break this symmetry by gauging. This gives rise for instance to SO(9) gauged supergravity, relevant for the holographic description of the D0 brane matrix model. A vast, unexplored landscape of other theories is available which can capture features of many other black-hole models. The full formulation of their dynamics and their string theoretic interpretation were however lacking. I will describe the full (bosonic) construction of these theories and the framework necessary to related them to consistent Kaluza—Klein compactifications of ten- and eleven-dimensional supergravities. I will summarise the map from D0 brane geometries to SO(9) gauged supergravity as well as some ML-like techniques useful to explore the landscape of 2d gauged supergravities.
