Erwin Schrödinger published his famous equation in 1926. It has become the basis for understanding most of atomic, molecular and condensed matter physics. Schrödinger came to work in England from 1933-36 and was based in Magdalen College, Oxford [1]. During this period he published his papers on Entanglement and Schrödinger’s Cat. He also interacted with close friends in Cambridge, including Paul Dirac and Max Born who had a temporary position at St. John’s College.

This talk will describe Schrödinger’s work and career with particular emphasis on his time in Oxford and his previously unappreciated visits to Cambridge. David Clary will also briefly describe his own research on applying Schrödinger’s equation to molecular collisions and chemical reactions.
