Abstract
Abstract: Sony aims to fill the world with emotion, through the power of creativity and technology and during this talk we will introduce you to Sony, as well as Sony’s academic engagement models. As part of one of the world’s most innovative and recognizable brands, we are committed to support university research and innovation, while fostering partnerships with university faculty and researchers.
Biography: Damjan Stamcar started his career in 1996 at Ericsson in Düsseldorf, Germany where he studied communications engineering at the University of Applied Sciences. He worked as a network administrator in the test lab where new network generations like 2G, 3G and 4G have been tested before their implementation in the mobile network. In 2002 he switched to Sony Ericsson / Sony Mobile where he had several roles as a Customer Service Engineer, Technical Product Manager, Technical Account Manager, Product Launch Manger, Product Marketing Manager and Launch Execution Manager in the mobile industry. In 2019 he joined Sony R&D as a Principal Technology Analyst at the Stuttgart Technology Centre (STC) where he is in charge of the Sony Research Award Program in Europe with the objective to accelerate innovation in between corporate R&D and the various business units in Sony by introducing complementary external technologies and fostering collaboration with Universities and Research Institutions.
