Buildings (as one might expect) are highly symmetrical objects consisting of apartments and chambers. They include projective planes, trees and various space tessellations. This talk we be a short introduction to buildings from a geometric perspective. We will see some examples with different geometries, what their ‘building blocks’ are and how those blocks determine a building. Further, we will examine the links and observe the CAT properties of buildings.

This talk is part of the Junior Geometry Seminar series.
