Abstract

Come hear Professor Geoffrey Wood (Professor of Economics, Cass Business School) put the collapse of Northern Rock in its historical context. His investigations into Northern Rock’s governance may dismay and surprise you, but you will come away with a much better understanding of the current crisis. From 1994 to 2004, Professor Wood was a Special Advisor on Financial Stability to the Bank of England, and has also been a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the New Zealand Treasury, and the Bank of Finland. He is on the Editorial Boards of the Greek Economic Review, The Journal of Financial Education, the European Journal of Political Economy, and is a General Editor of the Journal of Financial Regulation.
