Abstract
The Event Horizon Telescope will soon produce movies of the accretion flows in M87 and Sgr A. Fluid models of these sources suggest that the movies will show spiral features with pattern speeds that are small compared to the orbital speed of the emitting plasma. I will describe the fluid model predictions, a model of fluctuations in accretion flows based on Gaussian random fields, and the beginnings of a model that incorporates both dynamics and statistical features.
