Interactions between planets, their protoplanetary disc and their star

This presentation will start by discussing what exoplanets and protoplanetary discs observations can tell us about planet formation and orbital evolution. I will then present some of our recent work on how planetary migration impacts the dynamics and the emission of gas and dust in protoplanetary discs. I will more particularly focus on the possibility that a single giant planet may acquire a substantial eccentricity in its protoplanetary disc, and what observational signatures this mechanism predicts. I finally intend to present ongoing work on tidally-forced inertial waves in differentially rotating stars and planets.
