Abstract
Despite Herculean efforts, the Internet’s communications infrastructure remains alarmingly vulnerable to attacks. In this talk, I will exemplify the Internet’s security holes through two prominent examples: Internet routing and time synchronization. I will discuss what I view as the main obstacles to progress on securing the Internet and how I believe that these can be overcome.
