Abstract
Fluid blisters forming beneath elastic membranes arise in a variety of settings, from microfluidic devices to magmatic systems. Previous studies have typically considered either the thin, bending beam limit, or the thick, half-space limit. In this talk I’ll discuss a simple model for the elastic layer that allows us to span these two limits, along with two models that incorporate it: one for a Newtonian fluid blister, and another for two-phase flow in a porous medium with applications to CCS .
