Abstract
Chaired by Laurence Tiley
Abel Wilson Walekhwa is a Public Health Specialist and currently PhD Candidate at Diseases Dynamic Unit. He is working with Dr Andrew Conlan where they are exploring the use of livestock abortions surveillance to detect RVF outbreaks earlier using livestock movement and pilot surveillance data from Uganda. Before joining Cambridge, he was involved in one health projects in Uganda as a Senior Epidemiologist both at policy and implementation level. He wants to grow mathematical modelling competence so that he can contribute to uptake of predictive approaches in disease control in Uganda and the region.
