Abstract
I will construct a one-to-one correspondence between states and nonlocal operators, valid for CFTs enjoying continuous higher-form symmetries. Focusing on four-dimensional Maxwell theory, I will show that its higher-form symmetries get enhanced to an infinite dimensional symmetry algebra, akin to the two-dimensional Kac-Moody algebras. This algebra organises, in turn, the spectrum of states and operators. As an implication of that, the states living on SยนรSยฒ correspond to line operators, potentially decorated with local operators. I will briefly comment on other dimensions and other theories. This is based on work in progress with Diego Hofman.
