I will construct a one-to-one correspondence between states and nonlocal operators, valid for CFTs enjoying continuous higher-form symmetries. Focusing on four-dimensional Maxwell theory, I will show that its higher-form symmetries get enhanced to an infinite dimensional symmetry algebra, akin to the two-dimensional Kac-Moody algebras. This algebra organises, in turn, the spectrum of states and operators. As an implication of that, the states living on S¹×S² correspond to line operators, potentially decorated with local operators. I will briefly comment on other dimensions and other theories. This is based on work in progress with Diego Hofman.
