Abstract
The introduction of the Lego Mindstorms NXT system has make it possible to demonstrate feedback control principles in a convincing way using Lego models. I now use a number of such models in the second year introductory control course to illustrate: basic control action, impulse, step and frequency responses (including building up Bode and Nyquist diagrams in real time), PID controllers, the Nyquist stability criterion and loop shaping design. In this lecture I will run through these demos and the associated teaching material.
