Abstract
The performance of layered perovskites is dictated by the rich excitonic landscape in these materials. In this talk, I will explain how excitons in these materials can be modelled and uncover the optical spectra, phonon-mediated relaxation dynamics and exciton transport in layered perovskites. In particular, I will explain the peculiarly large emission from perovskites at low temperatures, elucidated through theory and experiment. Recent advances in synthesis have allowed our collaborators to create moiré superlattices from perovskites. Here I will use my theoretical model to explain the localisation of excitons observed in these novel twisted systems.
